Louise Longauer, Owner ESMT, VOA, ET
Louise is the founder of Perks for Pets Sitting and sole caregiver. She has been in business since 1998.
Originally from White Rock, BC. Shortly after finishing her post secondary education, she moved to Calgary, AB in 2002.
Her love for all animals started off at a young age. She grew up riding and showing Arabian horses. Most of her summers were competing and working for Arabian Horse farms, grooming and hauling show horses throughout United States and Canada.
Her love for small and large animals have always been a huge part of her life. Having horses, dogs and cats in her life, she was the one who would always be wanting to make sure they were in good health and being taken care of. When she finished High School, she went on to further her education in the animal industry completing a Veterinary Office Assistant program, at West Coast College of Healthcare, graduating from Kwantlen University College as Equine Technician, specializing in Equine Conformation and Lameness and completing her Equine Sports Massage Therapy program at Equissage, in Roundhill, Virgina.
Once moving to Calgary, Louise study several small business management courses at Mont Royal University College where she gained knowledge about running her own business, successfully growing her part time pet sitting business into a full time job in 2008.
When Perks for Pets was running as a part time business, Louise worked as a full time Technician Assistant at Western Veterinary Specialist before moving over to Falconridge Animal Hospital in 2004, working as a Veterinary Assistant later furthering her career as a Practice Manager.
In 2022 she decided to leave the Veterinary industry to focus on her pet sitting business and help run her family’s horse farm.
Her background and expertise with animals, large and small, have helped her become the successful business owner she is today. Professionalism and customer service is what she strives for in making clients and their pets happy.
Outside of her love for animals Louise enjoys camping, traveling, fishing and playing Volleyball.
